TechEd 2011 Slides – DPR304
Thanks to everyone that came to my session at TechEd 2011 yesterday – it was a great crowd, and the presentation was a lot of fun to put together. My apologies for any confusion with the title (i.e. not making it explicit that it was a developer talk in the title) – this will definitely be something that we address next time.
You can find the slides from the talk below, and the source code of all demos can be found on GitHub. Hope you enjoy, and look forward to any feedback.
*** Update – corrected Session code in title ***
Excellent as always Simon.
However for an English person it was very painful listening to you trying to sound american. Can you do me a favour? Stop d’ing your t’s to sound american. It’s daTa not daDa. Every time you did it I physically cringed. Yes it really is that bad.
Stirling performance otherwise though old chap.
Tom – what can I say? After 10+ years here in the US, I’m losing the battle…
Will be practicing “DaTa” in front of the mirror before my next presentation!
Where is the MVC Demo from Tech ED?
Rob – you can find it on https://github.com/simonguest/teched2011-demo-server and https://github.com/simonguest/teched2011-demo-client
Hello Simon,
This is my most favorite technical presentation that I have seen ever. In addition to your technical depth and knowledge, you also have enviable talent in conceptualizing and presenting in the slides. Despite heavily technical, at no point you have used just lame bullet points. The diagrams and illustrations are worth mimicking. I have declared yourself as my ‘hero’ of technical presentations!
I wish I ever get to your actual powerpoint slides. If there is any coaching you do in preparing technical slides – I will be the first one to join
Nitin
Hi Nitin – thanks for the kind words, that’s very nice. I was inspired several years ago by a book called “Beyond Bullet Points” and have never looked back since.
I like the idea of putting together a presentation on “putting presentations together”
Maybe I’ll put some time into building that…
